Tool and Gear Swap

Have some extra of one thing and not enough of another? Don't let it put a wrench in your plans, come swap your extra tools!

How does it work? Bring your items in; one of our crew members will asses the value of your things, and give you a certain amount of tickets. Greater the value of your inventory, more tickets you get to swap. All collected items will be separated in groups based on value, where you can exchange your tickets for treasures.

We'll be seeding the swap table with many of our excess tools, gears, and handy supplies as well. You won't want to miss this one!

All artists are welcome to attend! Bring your canvas, your cameras, your easels, your supplies, music instruments, your hula hoops, creative science experiments, your edible creations, or just yourself.

We would like to provide a safe space for everyone to create art, it doesn't matter what kind of project you want to work on:origami and magazine collages, writing a haiku, to an elaborate Appalachian landscape painting! Just bring/do/be whatever you want here.
This is simply about creating art and being around inspiring people, in a welcoming space...

Also, bring any drinks/snacks you would like (if you want)... and most of all, yourself.

This is a week long book exchange, where you can pop in any time during our business hours. To round up the exchange we are holding a "DIY Tiny Neighborhood Library" event on May 5th. At this event we invite you to turn one of the old brochure stands into unique tiny library, and take it to your home/businesses. TRS Book Exchange is free of charge;however, it's $15 to participate at "DIY Neighborhood Library".

We're getting funky with our Earth MONTH plans! Come on by and whip up something fantastic using ONLY discarded items. Each sculpture will be held here for one week while we collect votes! At the end of the week the sculptures with the most votes will earn their creators $50 gift certificates towards TRS Inventory and sweet bragging rights! We've got a heap of clean and interesting materials looking for new life and everything you need to get everything secured. Bring your own 'trash' and enjoy our uber random collection as well :)
There will be both youth under 15 and adult categories making this event both fair and fun for the whole family. $5 to enter at the time of the event. No preregistration is required and all forms of payment will be accepted.

Dapper Clothing Swap

You asked, and we delivered!
First TRS Men's clothing swap is here. Bring your gently used clothes, accessories and shoes, and swap with the other guests.
We appreciate the differences, and invite everyone to participate regardless of their age, gender, and style preferences! Have a thing or two that are too poor to donate? Bring them in, and we will recycle those. The event falls on Free Beer Sunday; please, be sure to bring your ID to enjoy a local brew.Revamp your closet at no cost to you, and no harm to the Planet.
Five dollars suggested donation to Community Roots, and you can swap till you drop!

Here are some guidelines to the swap:
Make sure that items you bring are clean and in a good shape. No tear, missing parts, stains or odor. There will be a recycling bin on the spot, where you can drop off all the damaged and stained pieces.
No used undies please!
Bring your items on hangers. We will have clothing racks set up for easy browsing. You can take hangers back, once your item has been picked up. We will collect all leftover hangers in the end of the swap, and if you have to leave early, you can drop by in the next few days and get your hangers back. We have plenty of hangers at the store, so if you need some, we got you covered. First come, first serve.
Clothing racks will be separated by sizes. Hang your garments on appropriate racks, then start your treasure hunt!
Although, there is no limit on how many items you can get from the swap it’s fair get as many as you brought in or less. Also, keep the count of how many items you are getting, you will need it on the way out.
This swap is free, which means no sales allowed. Trades only!
Items from the swap should remain in designated swap area, until your departure. If you would like to browse around the store, there will be an area for your newly acquired outfits. We will label and keep them safe until you are ready to go!
If you are planning on having some beer, make sure to bring a valid ID
Parking: Once you are done with unloading, park in the back parking lot. You can access it through Simpson Street. No street parking allowed on Glendale Ave. If you still unsure where to park, ask front desk member for assistance.
No smoking/vaping allowed within 100 ft of the venue.
Our community is beautiful and very diverse, please, be polite and respectful with our guests and store crew.

Makers will share stories about their creative process, materials, and inspirations. In addition, we will have an interactive Art Marathon Exhibition. During Art Marathon, participants had an agenda of creating at least one piece of art each day for a whole month. Some of the artworks might be raw, unfinished and unrefined. The idea of this practice is to capture and express a fleeting moment of inspiration, without an obligation to create a perfect final product.
